The title of this news item sounds more like something from a DIY or home improvement magazine, but hopefully if you have a 360 virtual tour or are thinking of having one(s) built, then this item will give you some ideas of maximising your 360 tour.

This will take advantage of the audience of both sites and add a ‘wow’ factor to your profiles on both sites. Acts nicely as a bit of viral marketing if done right, like!
Your 360 tour is a flash file - your 360 tour works like any other flash file, thus you can embed it into other flash applications, use as a flash banner, within a flash game or anything else your creativity comes up with.
Images are important - The print quality version of your 360 tour which you get free of charge from Bassmedia, can be reduced in file size and used on your website (see the header images above!) The image does give a distorted view due to the ultra wide angle, but shows a 360 degree view in one image. This can be used as a link image or main image on your website.
Presentations - Do you perform presentations as part of your work? Use your 360 tour in your choosen presentation – Powerpoint or similar. which is best? – this depends on your needs. Some clients have them on seperate pages (one tour per page is recommended. Multiple 360 tours on a page requires more computer processing power, so the rotation of the 360 tour starts to drag, especially on older machines.) This works well if you want to add text and possibly other imagery to a page to enhance the 360 tour and also add more content for the nice search engines!
A floorplan view works well if you require a self contained application with all the 360 tours embedded in the floorplan.

Flash is king….for now - stats show up to 98% of internet users have the flash plugin installed in their browser of choice, so there is a good chance your audience will see your 360 tour as you want them to see it, if your 360 tour is built in flash.
In the past java and quicktime were the technologies of choice, but these technologies are just not as wide spread as in early times. Other 360 tour technologies have come and gone, but they all relied on the user downloading a plugin to view the tour. Asking a user to download something just to view one thing on your site is a good way to push away site users. Thus, always stick with the most popular used technologies. That goes for most things……
Thus, if you have a java or quicktime version of your 360 tour, it might be time to at least have it updated to a flash version. (always ask your web developer if flash detection is being used on pages you have flash embedded.)
